more pics
more pictures . . . I'm excited about the "My Lovely Baby Bump" t-shirt just because it's so funny.
C and I had a lovely date tonight; I was at the library all afternoon and then we met down in the Village and went to see Catie Curtis who we LOVE perform at Joe's Pub. We'd missed her the last few times she's been to New York, so we didn't want to miss her again. I love love love her. Then we walked around a little bit and got ice cream from "Mary's Dairy" since it was so warm out. It was really nice, and I think we appreciated it more than we might normally, simply because we know that we won't have a lot more evenings out like this with a baby and with no money! Speaking of which, I'm a little stressed out because with all the check writing we're doing for the lawyer, the social worker, our day care, birthing classes, etc., we're feeling a bit broke. I have interviewed for 2 different administrative positions as well as a writing fellowship position, and I am just really hoping something works out. Remember: "The Baby Brings its own Sandwich." "There is Abundance in the World." etc.
tomorrow marks 30 weeks. 3/4 of the way there! According to babycenter.com:
How your baby's growing: Your baby's a bit more than 15 1/2 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds. A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and fills out your uterus. Her eyes open and close, she's able to distinguish between light and dark, and she can even follow a light source back and forth. Once she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have a visual acuity of only 20/400 — which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. ("Normal" vision in adults is 20/20.)
and I should be experiencing mood swings (yup), fatigue (not too much), and clumsiness (moi?!?!),
