hiccups
Avery has the hiccups right now. I think. I'm at the Grad center at the computer and I feel this rhythmic bubble feeling on my lower left side. It's very regular and I think it must be hiccups. That's pretty darn cute.
We went to see the Martha Stewart show this morning with some of C's colleagues. It was pretty fun but the show itself seemed like it would be kind of boring to watch on TV (I'd never seen her show before). Molly Shannon came on and did a craft project and she was pretty charming, then Martha roasted garlic, then her daughter and her daughter's friend who have a radio show together came on and took questions from the audience. They seemed really uncomfortable and didn't have anything smart to say when asked about their opinions regarding Don Imus.
But it was still a lot of fun and as audience members, we got stuff! We got this week's issue of People magazine (Because there are pictures from MArtha's trip to Russia in it) and some people got random things (I think leftover prizes from other days) -- C got a hardback novel called "The Diary of an Honest Mum" which is cool cuz it's all about a woman getting pregnant and having a baby. Some people got sponges. I didn't get anything. But they also fed us scones, pita chips and water. All in all, it was worth getting up an hour earlier than normal :)
C and I have "discovered" how great Trader Joe's is. We had been to ones in Michigan and St. Louis but not the one here mostly because it isn't close to where we live and it always seems so crowded. But it is worth the trek and the crowd for CHEAP, healthy groceries and lots of easy to make stuff.
His hiccups are over, I think.
I am in the 3rd trimester officially. I am getting big. We'll put a new picture up here soon.
Right now everything is a bit overwhelming. I've gone on 3 interviews for jobs (well, one is a fellowship position). I have a 2nd interview at one place next week. I'm trying to finish my requirements for my phd program so I can be ABD by summer. And I'm trying to finish up my classes that I'm teaching for the semester. And the hormones have hit me hard. I've been very grouchy and crabby for about 2 weeks now (but it mostly just happens in the evenings when I'm tired . . . of course, that means that C is the only one who suffers due to my irrational crabbiness. I'm trying not to let the hormones take over too much though.
